High School Juniors & Seniors

Beyond the Spectrum Inc. welcomes high school juniors and seniors who want to make a difference in the lives of children on the autism spectrum. Our volunteers help create safe, sensory‑friendly spaces where every child feels supported, included, and celebrated.

What Volunteers Do

  • Assist with sensory‑friendly activities

  • Support children during play

  • Help with setup and cleanup

  • Greet families and create a welcoming environment

  • Model patience, kindness, and inclusion

Requirements

  • Must be a high school junior or senior

  • Must complete the online volunteer form

  • Must have parent/guardian permission

  • Must follow all guidelines and expectations

Professional Conduct

  • Arrive on time

  • Dress appropriately

  • Use respectful language

  • Follow staff instructions

  • Stay in designated areas

  • Avoid cell phone use during events

  • Maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Assist with activity stations

  • Support children during sensory play

  • Help with setup and cleanup

  • Greet families

  • Model inclusion and kindness

Safety

  • Never be alone with a child

  • Report concerns immediately

  • Follow all safety instructions

Attendance

  • Notify staff if unable to attend

  • Consistent attendance may be documented for service hours
